GOD’S PURPOSE OF MINISTRY

The purpose of ministry is to empower individuals because God’s works of service are to be done by individuals, not ministers alone (Ephesians 4:11-16*). The work of ministers is to prepare individuals for God’s works of service, which includes bringing others to the knowledge of God. The works of service are done by individuals as they live out their faith and engage in activities that benefit others and society at large.

Individuals are expected to be faithful witnesses of God in and out of faith centres. The workplace is a very fruitful place for ministry as individuals preach everyday by their lives. People will come to God when people of faith allow their behaviour to reflect their faith teachings.

We encourage individuals to live out their faith in a workplace setting in a respectful way with an understanding of work as an extension of God’s creation work. We bring out clearly God’s purpose for work; to present work (paid or unpaid), career or business as a ministry calling; and to teach principles for living out faith in workplace setting. We present faith-based leadership and management principles and teach the need for prayer in the workplace.

Live Faith Out At Work Ministry does not push for an overt conversion of others in workplaces to Christian faith, although it may be a by-product. The main goal is to work with individuals as they strive to become one with God; learn to commit even the minute details of their daily activities or projects into God's hands; seek to become better employees, managers, leaders or employers; and seek to make a positive impact in the workplace. We work with individuals as they seek to shape or change their thoughts, thinking patterns, attitudes and observable behaviours.

  • Ephesians 4:11-16New International Version (NIV)
  • 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
